If you've decided to see a certified health coach, they may recommend a full-body health scan. This scan provides information about your current state of health and can help identify areas of concern. It's a noninvasive test that uses light and sound waves to produce images of your organs and tissues.
The coach will review the results of your scan with you and develop a plan to improve your health. If you're curious about what information the scan can provide, here's what you need to know.
Body Composition
One of the most important pieces of information that a full-body health scan can provide is your body composition. This includes your lean mass (muscle, bone, and water) and your fat mass. The scan will also show where your fat is distributed in your body.
This information is important because it can help you set realistic weight-loss goals. It can also help you determine if you're at risk for obesity-related health problems, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Based on this information, you can make lifestyle changes.
Bone Density
Another important piece of information that a full body health scan can provide is your bone density. This is a measure of how strong your bones are. Osteoporosis is a condition that causes weak and thin bones. It's a serious health problem that can lead to fractures.
The information from a full-body health scan can help you and your health care provider decide if you need to take measures to protect your bones, such as getting more calcium and vitamin D or taking medication.
Organ Function
A full-body health scan can also provide information about your organ function. This includes how well your liver, kidneys, and pancreas are working. It can also show if there are any abnormalities in these organs.
The information from a full-body health scan can help you make lifestyle choices that can improve your organ function, such as eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly. You may also get answers to some of your questions about why certain parts of your body are in pain.

One day I was playing a game of basketball with a friend, and the friend I was playing ball with tripped and took a hard fall to the ground. He hit his head hard, but he insisted he was okay and just wanted to go home and take a nap. I knew in my heart that he was not thinking clearly, and I didn't feel right letting him go home. I talked him into letting me take him to the hospital, and after some tests, it was determined he had a bad concussion. The doctors told me that if I had let him go home and sleep, things could have taken a turn for the worse. I created this blog to remind everyone to look out for each other after injuries. Not everyone thinks clearly after a head injury, and just being a good friend could save a life.
